# Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)

The [Artificial Intelligence Act](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A32024R1689) aims to address the present and potential concerns raised by the use of AI systems which affects the safety, security, and the protection of fundamental rights in the European Union. The primary objective of the AI Act is to include a technology-neutral definition of 'AI systems' which is compatible with the EU law and to provide a set of rules tailoring a risk-based approach for the governance of different AI systems.
